To the north of Destin is Choctawhatchee Bay, to the south the Gulf, and to the east, East Pass, connecting the Gulf and the Bay. One unique characteristic to the Gulf waters off Destin is the presence of two sandbars 15 yards and 130 yards off the beach. These sandbars create the beautiful blue and green water colors.
