Welcome to the Galveston Victorian House! A luxury vacation rental located in the heart of Galveston's East End Historic District. All the comforts and feel of a BB but with privacy and much more space! Ornately constructed 135 years ago, the house survived the Great Storm of 1900 and Hurricane Ike. Original hardwood floors from 1871 remain upstairs. It's beautifully appointed with comfortable period compatible furnishings throughout.Our street is visited by horse-drawn carriages with tours conducted by local guides. The back deck is surrounded by a fountain and gardens. The house has 1,800+ sq. ft. and sleeps six (6). 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths, a living room, dining room and kitchen. The TV/sitting room is convertible to the third bedroom (with a new queen sleeper sofa + additional 2" memory foam). You won't want to leave!
A well lit "Great Room" has plush sofas and fine period compatible furniture. The dining area features a Queen Anne table with 6 chairs, a china cabinet, side board, and bureau full of table linens. There is also a silver tea and coffee service. Art is present throughout the house. A large updated and sunny kitchen has been completely furnished with two sets of china dishes, each with 8 place settings. The silverware is a silver plated service for 12. It is also stocked with quality pots and pans, and all other items necessary to cook and serve any meal. A toaster, Cuisinart, microwave, coffee maker and electric grinder, blender, ice cream maker and electric knife are included. The kitchen table comfortably seats four adults. The house has 2 full bedrooms upstairs, each with queen-sized beds. There is a large full-sized bath upstairs with a wonderful tub for bubble bath fans. Another fully updated bath with a deep tub is located downstairs. 8 SHORT BLOCKS TO BEACH!!
Situated in the middle of the charming East End National Historic District and placed on one of the most architecturally significant streets in Galveston, the house and Ball Street are often visited by horse-drawn carriages whose tours are conducted by local guides. Close to everything! Beach is a 2 minute drive, Strand Historic District is 5 minutes away.
